Quilts from the Heart

I love my charity quilt group, http://www.quiltsfromtheheart.org/. My fingers kept wanting to type "guilt" maybe cause it is a guilty pleasure!

Green and Gold/Yellow  2 1/2 inch squares. From donated fabric and my stash.

Anita's Arrowheads, a very fun technique I found on line. All of this fabric had been donated to QFTH,.

Plus quilt. The colored fabrics all are QFTH, the white is from my bolt of Kona White.

Pink and green. What can I say. These fabrics were all from my stash.

These are pictures of quilt tops I took to QFTH two weeks ago. I need to be better about taking completed "tops" pictures. Not having a a large enough design wall, plus my inherent laziness, does create lack luster photo's. At least I have some record of the quilts and quilt tops!

And although I have LOTS of UFO's, I also started three new quilt tops (What!!) this last week. They are all for QFTH with combinations of donated fabric and fabric from my stash. They are a pink and purple kaleidoscope, a Nine patch lattice in greens and a scrappy herringbone. I hope to have at least one top finished to take to group this Friday and I will also finish one of my UFO's to donate.

Thanks for allowing me to record the process!

Enjoy!
Toni

OOPSY! Need to Post a Different Picture

This is a different picture from the last post. For whatever reason Pinterest tells me the picture is "broken" so I can't pin it. I'll try again with this version!

Aww! The other picture is actually better, but what can you do with a "broken"  picture?

Cheers!  Toni

Once Again, Mainly Pictures!

Here is a picture of a quilt top I did for Quilts from the Heart in December. These were flannel scraps.  I wanted to show you could easily do something interesting with those scraps.

Next are pictures of a finished quilt for Camp Victory. I finished this in January. Camp Victory is a QFTH recipient. The camp is for children who have endured sex abuse. Each boy, in this case, will go home with a quilt of there own. One of our QFTH members, generously donated all the cut fabric for these quilts.

Also in January I took a UFO Top, Fanciful Geese, and finished that for QFTH

This month I have finished a Plus top. Tomorrow I will get fabrics for the backing and binding and donate this top to QFTH for someone else to quilt and bind.

Additionally, as the "fabric librarian" I will be making up kits for beginning quilters. This is a top I made this month from donated squares as a sample for one kit.

AND, February has been busy and productive for me! Here is another top and pieced back that will go to QFTH quilters. It is the same pattern as the Camp Victory quilt. I just wanted to see it in happier colors.

Beyond quilt making, there was an interest in One Block Wonder and Stack and Whack quilts. So three of us conducted a class for about 10 people. Tomorrow we will be putting blocks on the wall. But for now, here is a block from me, arranged two different way.. You will see more of these later.

And lastly! A peek at more blocks. I will have this one made into a top yet this month. I've not finished arranging the blocks and therefore I can't add a border. I do think I have a nice fabric for a border. We will see! Hopefully tomorrow I will also find fabrics appropriate for backing and binding in the QFTH stash.

I hope you have enjoyed the "view"  Cheers! Toni
